Family Travel

     So... sitting in the Orlando airport.... and sitting... and sitting....

   

     We have been here since 10:30am and it is now 2:16pm. Our flight was delayed twice - because of snow on the runways and de-icing in Toronto this morning and then flight-path changes enroute because of storms encountered in the air by the plane coming here - doesn't that inspire confidence for a safe and calm flight home?

   The offspring are getting restless. In all honesty, they have been very good, actually. We have the electronics - 2 ipads, 2 laptops, a kobo - and that old fall back "real books". But now, with numb bums and ants in their pants and grumbles in their tummies (after all breakfast was like 6 hours ago and the fight over the remaining cookies is 90 minutes in the past), we have exceeded the 'what can I do now' limits.

   Joey and Meri have exhausted the Phineas and Ferb continuum and broke through the Clone Wars threashold; Emma has wracked her brain to write her blog for school. The brain wracking led to a very interesting retrospective on the Disney World experience... which led to a discussion of just what is in a blog, who reads a blog, why blog in the first place.....  Hence, here we are with a "family" blog - because, clearly, this family has too much time on their hands (more on that later).

     First entry... posted after we got home... after a surprisingly quick flight and trip home. Only one calamity: Emma's coat got left behind "somewhere" between security and changed gates and waiting.... Meri was in charge of Emma and Joey's coats and somehow "lost" one. We had a good sob on the plane and immediately after landing in Toronto went to Vaughan Mills and got a very similar coat for Emma... 

     All ends well .......  and that's the way you do it.....
